Terms of Service

Last updated: January 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shadowspeek, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Shadowspeek is a platform for creating posts with public content and encrypted "shadow" content that can be revealed later. Your shadow content is encrypted client-side and only you hold the decryption keys.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Not post illegal, harmful, or abusive content
  • Not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
  • Not attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Not use automated systems to access the service without permission
  • Take responsibility for maintaining your device credentials

4. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant Shadowspeek a license to store and display your public content. Your encrypted shadow content remains private until you choose to reveal it.

5. Cryptographic Keys

Your encryption keys are stored on your device. We cannot recover your keys or decrypt your shadow content. If you lose access to your device credentials, your unrevealed shadows may be permanently inaccessible. This is by design.

6. Identity Deletion

You may delete your local identity at any time through your profile settings. This removes your credentials from your device and logs you out. Your published posts will remain on the platform but you will no longer be able to decrypt unrevealed shadows or prove authorship. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shadowspeek shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
